How to keep track of family relationships
The problem is not learning who is who. It is remembering it five years later.

Short answer
Record each relationship once, in one direction, and let the reverse be created automatically — that is what stops a family map from rotting. Let the app propose the relationships your existing ones imply rather than entering every cousin by hand. Then keep a short timeline on the people who matter, so you have a record of what happened and not only a diagram of who is related to whom.
Record once, in one direction
Hand-maintained family maps fail because every fact has to be entered twice and eventually one half is missed. Reciprocal relationships remove that failure mode entirely.
Let inference do the tedious part
Most relationships in a family are implied by others. Your sibling's child, your spouse's parent, your parent's sibling — none of these need to be entered if the underlying links exist.
TreeLinker proposes them with a confidence score and an explanation, and asks you when the type is ambiguous.
Keep a timeline, not just a tree
A tree tells you the structure. A timeline tells you the history: when you last spoke, what was said, what went well.
Entries are newest-first and the important ones can be pinned so they stay at the top.
Use the calls you already get
Incoming calls from people you know are recorded on their timeline, so the record of contact builds itself without you writing anything down.
Frequently asked questions
What if I record a relationship wrongly?
Relationships can be edited or removed, and the reciprocal side is updated with them.
Does it track outgoing calls?
No. TreeLinker never reads your call log. Only incoming calls seen through the call screening role are recorded.
Can I see how two people are connected?
The tree shows the connections around a person. A direct "path between any two people" query is not available yet.

Caller ID that never uploads your contacts
Most caller ID apps work by uploading everyone's address book into a shared database. TreeLinker does not have one. It shows how a caller is related to you, using only the contacts already on your phone.
