A family tree app that starts from your contacts
The names are already in your phone. A family tree should not begin with a blank form.

Short answer
TreeLinker is a family tree app for Android that builds the tree from the contacts already on your phone. You pick two people, say how they are related, and the reverse relationship is created for you. As the tree grows it proposes the relationships it can infer — your sibling's child is your niece or nephew — with a confidence score and an explanation. It is not a genealogy service: there are no historical records and no DNA matching, because it is built for the living family in your address book.
Why starting from contacts matters
The most common complaint about family tree software is that it is slow to get started and fiddly to keep going. Every person has to be typed in, and the payoff only arrives once dozens of them exist.
If the people are already in your address book, that entire step disappears. You link the ones you have, and the tree has branches in it within a minute or two.
Relationships, not just boxes
TreeLinker supports parent, child, sibling, spouse, friend, relative and other, each with its own colour and icon so a dense tree stays readable.
Recording one direction records the other. If you say that Omar is your brother, Omar's record says you are his — you never maintain both halves by hand.
Suggestions you can refuse
When the existing relationships imply a new one, TreeLinker proposes it rather than writing it. Each suggestion carries a confidence score and a sentence explaining which existing relationships produced it, and where a link is ambiguous you are asked which type it should be.
Nothing is added to your tree because software guessed. Everything in it is there because you accepted it.
What it deliberately does not do
TreeLinker has no historical record collection, no census indexes and no DNA matching. If your goal is to research ancestors born two hundred years ago, a genealogy service is the right tool and TreeLinker is not.
It is built for the other half of the problem: the living family you actually speak to, whose relationships nobody has ever written down.
Frequently asked questions
Do I have to type every relative in by hand?
No. TreeLinker reads the contacts already on your phone and you link the people who are already there. You only type in relatives you have no contact record for.
Can I export the tree as a GEDCOM file?
Not today. GEDCOM import and export are not supported yet.
Does it search historical records?
No. There is no record collection and no DNA matching. TreeLinker maps the living family in your address book.
Does it work offline?
Yes. The tree is stored on your device and can be read and edited with no connection.
