Memories
Kept with the people they are about.

Short answer
A memory in TreeLinker is a shared story, an event or a key date, attached to the contact or group it belongs to. It can carry photos, a date and a place. Because memories hang off a person rather than sitting in a feed, opening a contact shows what you have of them — which is the opposite of a social timeline, where only the most recent thing is findable.
Three kinds, because they behave differently
Stories stay where you put them. Events happened once. Key dates recur every year and resurface on their own.
Photos, dates and places
A memory can carry the photographs that give it meaning, the date it happened and where it was. Those details are what let someone connect it to something else years later.
Personal or shared
Memories on a contact are yours. Memories in a group are visible to that group's members.
