A family memory app built around people

A photo in a camera roll is a file. The same photo attached to your grandmother is a record.

Short answer

TreeLinker keeps family memories attached to the people they belong to. A memory is a shared story, an event or a key date, and it can carry photos, a date and a place. Because memories hang off a contact rather than sitting in a feed, opening a person shows what you have of them, and the key dates you record surface again as they come round each year.

Three kinds of memory

A story is something that happened and is worth retelling. An event is something with a date that people attended. A key date is an anniversary that recurs — a birthday, a wedding, the day someone died.

The distinction matters because they behave differently. Key dates come back every year and appear in your upcoming events; stories simply stay where you put them.

Attached to a person, not a timeline

Opening a contact shows the memories that involve them. That is the opposite of a social feed, where the most recent thing is the only thing you can find.

Groups have memories of their own too, so a family group can hold the trip that the whole family went on rather than filing it under one person.

What it is not

TreeLinker is not a photo backup service and does not try to replace one. It holds the photos that give a memory its meaning, not every picture you have ever taken.

Frequently asked questions

Can I add video?

Not currently. Memories support photos, dates and places.

Are memories shared automatically?

No. Memories you attach to a contact are yours. Group memories are visible to that group's members.

Do key dates remind me?

Upcoming key dates surface in the app as they approach. There are no push reminders yet.
